A to do list of activities, for your trek day outdoor adventure travel

Organizing a to do list with related alerts, and how to track your multi-day trek

To Do List is a new feature in version 10 of the app. A minimum of iOS 17 is required in your device.

When embarking on a multi-day trek, organization and planning are key to a successful and enjoyable experience. One effective way to stay on track and make sure you are meeting your goals is to use a to-do list and related alerts. These can help you prioritize tasks, manage your time effectively, and ensure you don't forget important details along the way.

How to track your trek days

  1. To begin with, outline your tasks before your trek starts. You can list all the tasks that need to be completed before you leave - including packing your gear, checking the weather forecast, and mapping out your route.

  2. Once the outline is ready, you can add camping supplies and to dos, so each activity is trackable.

  3. Start listing each trek day activity. By organizing your applicable outlined tasks into a detailed to do list, you can ensure that you are fully prepared for your journey. You can create a day wise list of tasks such as setting up camp, cooking meals, and navigating the trail.

  4. Once you are on the trek, your detailed to do list can help you stay organized and focused each day. By updating status of each to do as you complete it, you can track your progress and stay motivated to keep moving forward.

  5. In your to dos, using related alerts can be beneficial during a multi-day trek. Alerts can remind you of important activities and events, such as refilling your water supply, taking breaks, or reaching specific waypoints along the route. This can help you stay on schedule and ensure that you are meeting your daily goals.

  6. Alerts can also serve as safety measures during your trek. By setting reminders to check in with a friend or loved one at certain times, you can provide them with updates on your progress and ensure that someone knows your whereabouts in case of an emergency.

  7. Alerts can also remind you to stay hydrated, eat regularly, and rest after fixed intervals, to prevent exhaustion or dehydration.

Overall, using to dos and related alerts can greatly enhance your multi-day trekking experience. These can help you stay organized, track your progress, and ensure that you are meeting your goals along the way. By utilizing these resources, you can make the most of your trek and enjoy all the beauty and challenges that come with exploring the great outdoors.

Proper planning and organization are essential for a successful multi-day trek. By incorporating a to do list and related alerts into your routine, you can stay on track, manage your time effectively, and ensure a safe and enjoyable journey. So next time you pack your bags and hit the trail, remember to make use of these valuable tools to help you make the most of your adventure.

Making a To Do List

Create a To Do List, to plan and track the trek-day activities for your upcoming adventure trip.

For a new trip, Delete all exisiting data from any previous trip. (Note: This app is designed to store to do details for exactly 1 trip at a time.). Deletion is available by swiping, when the list is in the base view, sorted by Title.

Keep adding each To Do, to make your To Do List.

Set a Priority to each To Do. Later on trip day, you can sort the To Do List by Priority, and view the activities of same priority bunched together.

Similarly, when you sort by Begin Date, you can view the to dos of each day bunched together. Within the section for a day, the list is shown in ascending / descending order of Begin Date time in the day.

Similarly, you can sort by Status of To Do, or revert back to the list sorted by To Do Title.

It is beneficial to enable atleast one alert for your to dos.
Based on this, the system would then send you a notification before the activity time, based on the offset time.

Lifecycle states have been defined for a To Do to give you an idea of where its progress stands.

When an activity is lengthy, you can add your own milestones to supplement the progress status.

Add any notes on trip day, to capture your thoughts and emotions during the activity. Later on when journaling your day's activities, you can refer to these notes of your trip's moments.

When the To Do List is ready, you can search by title / description / milestone / note.
